Description

Features HALMATIC are synonymous with the commercial vessel world and their various designs have been a recognised industry standard worldwide. This particular hull is from the RNLI ARUN CLASS Lifeboat therefore ideally suited to pilotage work; a proven semi displacement hull with a dependable power train using the Scania DI16 for possibly the most arduous of marine operations. The robustness of construction and typical pilot vessel features such as the fendering and functional MoB platform, make her ideally suited to many commercial roles. Currently MCA Coded to Cat. 3, she has just been released from service but has a port engine issue and will therefore be sold as seen with the engine removed from the vessel. Navigation Furuno Radar Seapro GPS / Plotter Simrad Class A AIS Transceiver Garmin 152H GPS 2 x Sailor Compact RT2048 VHF Radios Icom IC-M601 VHF (DSC) Standard Horizon Hailer System, Furuno Wind Speed & Direction Furuno Depth with Electronic Compass Display Sestral Major Magnetic Compass Vetus Rudder Indicator Radio Receiver Such other equipment at the owners’ discretion. Electrical Onboard systems are 24v 230v Victron Quatro shore power/charger. Shore power serves outlets in the wheelhouse and accommodation areas and an invertor when at sea. Mechanical Two SCANIA Di16 V8 4 stroke turbocharged diesel engines rated @ 550bhp each driving conventionally through reduction gearboxes. The port engine has failed and is currently considered unserviceable and therefore subject to a rebuild if viable or replacement. The engine room has check-a-plate flooring with access to the lower bilge areas, air extraction via large vents. Exhausts have inline silencers and exit through the aft quarters (P&S). Watertight ‘dogged’ fire doors lead to the accommodation forward and the tank room aft with further access to the steering compartment beyond. There is provision within the deck head for engine extraction. Note: It is advised this vessel will be sold with the port engine removed but included. Capacities: Fuel: 4000 litres in integral centreline tanks Water: 200 litres Black Water: T.B.C. Reported Performance: Max: *20 knots Operational: *16-18 knots (*dependent upon loadings) Safety 4 No. Life buoys Life raft is hired. Sea Marshal crew monitoring system. Statex type engine room extinguishers with Marinex fire monitoring system at the con. Hand extinguishers Engine driven clutch operated bilge pump (from starboard engine). Accommodation DESIGN: This vessel was purpose built as a pilot vessel and follows a standard format with central helm position, maximised vision laterally and viewing windows within the wheelhouse superstructure for upward vision when boarding ships. The wheelhouse is placed amidships at deck level to facilitate ease of access for pilots to enter and leave the cabin area. WHEELHOUSE: The helmsman and crew have a dedicated operational space with 3 No. suspension seats separated from the main seating area This has bench seating and two KAB suspension seats (recently replaced) (S), a chart table and storage cabinet (P) and central wooden doors open outwards onto the after deck. The helm console is positioned centrally to maximise peripheral vision and all operational instrumentation can be easily monitored including electronic navigational aids, engine controls and instruments. This vessel is fitted with heated front screens with 2 x pantograph wipers (P&S) and a straight-line wiper for the helm. Passive lighting is provided for night operations and the vessel is fitted with appropriate internal and external lighting including search lights and deck illumination. ACCOMMODATION: The companionway to port of the con leads to the accommodation below. In the forepeak, a watertight ‘dogged’ door provides access to a storage aft and chain locker. The saloon/mess area has bench seating (P&S) which can serve as two berths if required with storage lockers above and further storage below the seating. The GALLEY: (P) has working surfaces, a Panasonic microwave oven, stainless steel sink/drainer (H&C), extractor, 240v supply for electrical devices and a refrigerator (located opposite) plus usual storage for provisions and cooking utensils. HEADS COMPARTMENT: (S) with Jabsco electric toilet and stainless steel hand basin (H&C), extractor and storage lockers. Accommodation areas are served by a diesel hot air heater + Calorifier hot water system pressure pumped to the galley and heads compartments. EXTERNAL: The working deck is flush to gunwale and provides one level access forward to the boarding area, inboard safety rails are fitted with Hadrian tracks. A forward ‘island’ rail is fitted. The transom is recessed and fitted with a hydraulically operated ‘man-over-board’ recovery platform. A raised central structure serves as access to fuel & water tanks at the rear end of the engine room. The vessel has a signal mast atop the wheelhouse with operational lighting.
