Description

Our pleasure to offer this beautiful classic Nicholson 36 that has been well maintained with many upgrades and enhancements. This vessel is in the tradition of the perfect sailing yacht and well set up for cruising and passage making. GRP hull by Halmatic with long keel, Replacement Tek Dek decks, recent engine and rig, standing and running. this beauty is afloat at Dun Laoghaire. 

Construction

Hull from the drawing board of Charles Nicholson with hull in GRP built by Halmatic under Lloyds supervision. 

Coachroof, decks and internal finish by the Boatyard at St Osyth - hence the name Samphire of Osyth.

Built for Dr Mork of Dublin who sailed her extensively in Irish and Scottish waters. A previous log records 14.5 knots returning from West Highland Week, evidence of the classic and efficient lines of the Nicholson design.

In the years 2011-14 deck beams and ply replacement with Tek Dek. Most cockpit beams replaced and ply base. New cockpit gratings fabricated in iroko.

Coachroof covered in epoxy cloth. Cabin sides epoxy-sheathed and varnished. Replacement window frames and some re-chromed surrounds.

Replacement pulpit in stainless and deck hardware re-chromed. Replacement primary and secondary winches instaled, chrome Lewmar.

New fore hatch and main hatch installed.

Exterior was shotblasted, sanded, faired and four coats of epoxy.

Replacement teak & holly cabin sole fitted.

Rudder removed, stripped back and totally renovated.

Heads compartment redesigned and new Baby Blake installed.

Galley re-modelled with cherry faced board work tops. Replacement SMEG cooker installed.

Insulated Tek Tanks ice box with remote Danfoss compressor installed.

All plumbing updated with Speedfit. New custom freshwater bladder and electric pump fitted.

New calorifier with immersion heater.

Stirling battery charger installed.

New gas locker and gas piping.

New engine box and surround.

New Lewmar anchor windlass.

2014 replacement standing rig along with Selden furlex 200s roller furler.

2016 - 17 REFIT

Replacement Vetus M3 29 diesel engine installed with Bullflex coupling, shaft, cutlass bearing, shaft seal and three blade fixed propeller.

3 X marine batteries deep cycle.

Replacement water pump.

all cockpit locker seats and bridge-deck replaced in iroko.

Chartplotter with Navionics charts UK & Ireland.

DSC VHF. AIS.

Running rig replaced. UV strip on genoa.

Kemp Stackpack and lazy jack system on main sail.

Rod vang.

Seldén mast mounted spinnaker pole.

On mast winches re-chromed.

Replacement jam cleats on mast.

Replacement boom sheaves.

Main reefing system replaced and angled winch fitted to mast.

Raymarine i50 speed, depth and wind with rubber face covers.

New cabling for backbone.

New Simrod TP32 tiller pilot.

Raymarine A57 platter.

Two way AIS system - Raymarine AIS 600 amp and splitter.

New teak coachroof mounted garage for instrument displays.

New cabin lighting mix of dome, lead and bunk lamps.

Replacement upholstery - navy with white piping.
