Description

The Aquador brand is part of the Finnish based Bella-Veneet OY group alongside other brands such as Flipper and Bella boats the group has been building boats since 1970. The group have four construction plants based throughout Finland. As you would expect from a well-established Scandinavian brand the boats marry high-quality traditional craftsmanship with the latest manufacturing techniques to produce quality craft that have a loyal following across the globe.

The Aquador 28C is well-conceived concept offering walk around decks with a deep well protected cockpit all linking seamlessly with an impressive interior with doors in the wheelhouse forward and aft. Internally she offers a huge amount of accommodation for a sub 10m boat with four berths over two cabins, galley and heads.

SHEARWATER is a 2007 example of the Aquador 28C, only launched in 2010. We sold the vessel to her current; third owner, in August 2022. A change of circumstances now forces an unexpected sale. Fitted out to a high specification her inventory highlights including:

  • Laid teak decks to finish side decks and cockpit.
  • Volvo Penta D6-310. 310hp @ 3,500rpm, approximately 480hrs
  • Volvo Penta DPH drive leg
  • Volvo Penta bronze Duo Props
  • Raymarine Evo autopilot system installed new 2021
  • Bennett trim tab system
  • Lewmar bow thruster
  • Sterling Power Products, 230VAC – 12VDC, 40amp battery charger
  • Raymarine ST60+ Tri-data display, Depth/Speed/Log
  • Raymarine A65 Plotter
  • Wallas diesel fired galley hob
  • Isotherm front loading fridge with freezer box
  • Flatscreen LCD TV
  • Wallas diesel fired blown air heating system
  • Engine heated demister system with space heating outlet in galley, two speed fan
  • Lewmar electric windlass

Afloat and in commission on her pontoon berth in Ardfern; the Aquador 28C SHEARWATER is available for viewing by prior appointment.

PRESS REVIEW:

There is a fine line between design that’s clever use of space and design that’s gimmicky. The Aquador 28C definitely falls on the right side of the divide.

Its unusual midships cabin is a comfortable bolt-hole in its own right, as well as a great conversation piece, and the way the wheelhouse opens up both to the elements and the cockpit makes it a joy to use come rain or shine.

In short, this is one of the most versatile layouts we have come across, using the full length of the boat to good effect. Moreover the boat has been well put-together, is super smart in appearance and performs cleanly at up to 25 knots.
