This yard later built the "Ocean Alexander" series of yachts and is known for quality constructionI am always impressed by the amount of interior living space and features that the popular tri-cabin trawler designs possess: two staterooms and two heads, with a roomy salon in between. This Universal 36 is rich in warm inviting teak, inside and out. Moored under cover, the exterior of this vessel is in fine condition.With substantial tankage of fuel and water, Ford Lehman Diesel engine, and solid hand laid fiberglass hull construction, this vessel would have made a fine cruiser as equipped from the factory. A number of thoughtful improvements over the years have improved on that foundation. The heating system has been upgraded to a Webasto diesel hydronic furnace. The inverter/charger was recently replaced with a MagnaSine 2812 unit, updated Raymarine navigation electronics complement the upper and lower helm station, and a bimini and clear isinglass panels allow the flybridge to be enjoyed and piloted from in all weather conditions.This is an attractive and well-equipped trawler for cruising locally or further afield.
