Driving one’s Porsche into the water is a surefire way to destroy a luxury automobile, but seven lucky people will get the opportunity to operate a superyacht with Porsche DNA embedded throughout its 115-foot hull. Monaco-based yacht builder Dynamiq is in the process of building the first yacht in its Gran Turismo Transatlantic line, the GTT 115, at its shipyard in Viareggio, Italy.

The all-aluminum hull was designed by Vripack, but the exterior design was handled by Studio F.A. Porsche, the renowned carmaker’s design house, which engages in a wide variety of projects, from sunglasses and watches to high-end furniture and yachts. The obvious Porsche elements include “Targa-style mullions” and transom lines that come from the futuristic Mission E concept. Owners — there will only be seven, as that is all the GTT 115s Dynamiq plans to build — can order their yacht in Carrara White, Rhodium Silver, Chalk or Monte Carlo Blue, which are all Porsche exterior colors.

The bow is plumb and somewhat axe-like, to cleave through the water, and a combination of Humphree fins and interceptor tabs, four each, provide stabilization. Top speed is predicted to be 21 knots thanks to twin 1,650 hp MAN V-12 diesels attached to Fortjes pods. A hybrid system is an option.

Three- and four-cabin layouts are available; the master is full beam either way. The interior, also designed by Studio F.A. Porsche, is as elegant as one would expect: silk, bamboo and wool carpets; marble counters and walls; cashmere pillows; and Pepita houndstooth-pattern exterior cushions like one would find in the 911R.

The $13.2 million yacht, the first of which is expected to splash this fall, has far too many features and options to cover here — a flybridge that’s 54 feet long, a karaoke system, a Sundeck cinema and disco package, a small pool — but the Porsche DNA and the exclusivity of only seven being built are sure to attract high-end buyers with a flair for automobile design.
