Deep Thoughts

Airmar Smart Sensors / $200-$300
Print This Article   |   Email This Article

Most radar units and chart plotters weren’t designed to have more than one application. However, those designs have been successfully thrown out the window with the invention of Airmar’s Smart Sensor.

These sly little sensors conveniently enable your existing radar or chart plotter displays to double as digital depth sounders, thanks to microelectronics inside the transducers.

Smart Sensors also eliminate mutual interference. This is especially convenient when navigating in a crowded harbor or marina, where there may be interference between individual boats’ depth sounders.
