Johnson 93

The latest Johnson 93 is but a template for all the model can be. Buyers have lots of options.

If a yacht has a full-beam VIP stateroom with marble vanity tops, his-and-hers heads and a walkthrough shower, then what must the master be like? Well, on the Johnson 93, the master is forward on the main deck and affords 270-degree views through windows that wrap around three sides. Electric curtains ensure owners can retain their privacy quickly when called for. A desk/vanity and a lounge settee are to port, and the en suite head is forward and down five steps — a hidden, luxurious space.

Two more staterooms occupy the belowdecks space on the 93-footer, each en suite and with its own entertainment system, but owners have wide latitude for the accommodations, anywhere from three to six staterooms.

A veritable teak beach of a swim platform welcomes visitors aboard, and its aft section is a hydraulic platform that facilitates swimming and tender launch and retrieval. Up port and starboard stairs from there is a cockpit with a six-person C-shaped transom settee and a dining table. Through stainless-framed glass doors is a salon that benefits from large and numerous port and starboard windows. A formal dining area is forward of the salon, and a galley is tucked into the portside forward, though owners can move the master belowdecks and put a country kitchen forward. Up a level is the skylounge deck, which includes indoor and outdoor space. Inside is a twin-seat helm, an L-shaped settee and a love seat that share a table, a wet bar with stools, and a day head. Aft are twin outdoor settees and smaller tables.

One more level up is the flybridge, which features another helm station, another wet bar with stools, an alfresco galley and a six-to eight-person settee with a big table. Aft is plenty of open space for chairs and/or chaise lounges. The bridge is covered by a hardtop and features a half-height windshield but is open to the breeze.

The big yacht is powered by twin Caterpillar C32 diesels, each of which cranks out 1,925 hp. Top speed is 24 knots and a comfortable cruise speed is 21.
