Crazy High Numbers of Breeding Otters Draw Crowds to Morro Bay

Sea otters were once an uncommon sight in Morro Bay harbors. Glimpsing just five of the threatened creatures bobbing in the waters of the sleepy coastal town was cause for celebration.
Today, Morro Bay hosts 30-40 independent sea otters and as many as 20 dependent pups, reports Gena Bentall of Sea Otter Savvy, an otter education organization in Northern California.
