Early this morning (Friday, Aug. 29) we broke the story that the 394-foot super yacht "A," one of the most luxurious private yachts in the world, arrived in Seattle last night and slipped into Harbor Island harbor for fuel.

This morning the giant yacht made the short journey from Harbor Island to Pier 90 where it will be stocked with supplies before it heads out to cruise the waters of this region. Tugboats and supply trucks stood at the ready while the ship took its position. It is arguably the most unusual-looking ship to ever have tied up at this pier.

The owners, Russian banking billionaire Andrey Melnichenko and his wife, have been in Seattle for several days. They flew in on their private Boeing 737, which is at Boeing Field. The plane dwarfs other business jets nearby. The couple visited with friends in the greater Seattle area while the crew ferried the boat here from Alaska to meet them.
