Boat May Be Beached, But Memories Are Still Sailing

If boats could talk, most of them would probably have a few stories to tell. But few would have an adventure story similar to that of a local double-hulled 1977 Hobie Cat sailboat.

Its owner, Eric Guenther, was a student at San Diego State University when he purchased the Hobie new with a college roommate.

“That was the boat of the day back then,” Guenther said. “Hobies have a great social capability to them and they were made to sail around and drag onto a beach.”
