Indoor Rowing Tank to Provide Olympics Legacy

A boat club in East Molesey, UK is hoping to provide an Olympics legacy in the form of a new rowing tank.
Molesey Boat Club has applied to build a single-storey building
incorporating a rowing centre, gym and boat storage as well as change of
use of public open space at Graburn Way Recreation Area to provide open
racking for rowing boats and trailers.
The club, based off Barge Walk, hopes constructing the
state-of-the-art tank will deliver a "major boost to the legacy of the
2012 Olympic Games".
The tank will teach young rowers the rudiments of technique on dry
land, and will replace a tank that was lost when Walton’s leisure centre
was redeveloped in 2004 — but not everyone is keen about the proposals.
