Record-Setting '50s Seattle Hydro to Get a New Home

A major move is under way to make room for the new Highway 520 as experts carefully maneuvered a piece of Seattle sports history out of the project's path.
It took a large crane and a lot of patience to give a local racing relic a new home.
At one time she was the biggest sports star from Seattle — the 1950s hydroplane with the seemingly inappropriate name of Slo-mo-shun.
But she was anything but slow — setting new world speed records of more than 180 mph on Lake Washington.
For most of the last 53 years, the "Slo-mo" has been on display at Seattle's Museum of History and Industry, but now it's time to get moving again.
