I operate my boat almost exclusively in fresh water. Do I need zincs?
Yes, unless you pull your boat out of the water after each use. But the sacrificial anodes you use should be magnesium based. They will not only protect your boat’s gear from galvanic corrosion but also from stray electrical currents that are often in the water around docks or in marinas.
